About the Cool Librarian

"You don't look like a librarian." I hear that all the time. I'm outgoing, tech savvy, and forward-thinking. And as a reference librarian, my commitment to accurate information, and "information to the people," never wavers. My friendly style, paired with my love of research, technology, writing, and editing, may be the combination you are looking for when trying to fulfill your library or research needs.

I hold a Master of Library and Information Science degree and work as a reference librarian at a mid-sized public library. My undergraduate degree in Communications and English, as well as my professional experience working in the non-profit and community service sector has allowed me to develop a broad range of skills and interests; I'm looking forward to helping you with your interests!

About Cool Librarian Research

Cool Librarian Research is a new business, and is the result of my love of information. It is also my hope that by focusing on the needs of individual people, libraries, non-profit entities, and small businesses, I can offer services that have been sometimes reserved for larger corporations. As a new business, Cool Librarian Research can offer very competitive pricing and very tailored services.

Resources

When conducting research, there are a number of sources I can access:
  • The Internet
  • Public Online Databases
  • Commercial Online Databases (such as EBSCO, Lexis-Nexis, Gale)
  • Print Sources (books, magazines, journals, newspapers, etc.)

Copyright

I abide by all copyright laws. If original source materials are delivered to the customer, it is with the understanding that the customer will abide by the laws as well. In cases of "document delivery," copyright and usage fees may be involved.

Pricing

Most pricing is based on an hourly fee plus any expenses that may be incurred, such as special subscription or copyright licencing fees. For more information on pricing your project, please contact me.
